Professor Behzad Sodagar, a Principal Sustainability Consultant at Circular Ecology, is a participant of the International Energy Agency Energy in Buildings and Communities (IEA EBC) Annex 80: Resilient Cooling of Buildings. The Annex seeks to “support a rapid transition to an environment where resilient low energy and low carbon cooling systems are the mainstream and preferred solutions for cooling and overheating issues in buildings”. Behzad also serves on the Subtask D (Policy Actions) of the Annex which addresses policy-related endeavours that promote energy efficiency and resilience in cooling.
Subtask D of the Annex has developed a range of policies and recommendations to support the implementation and mainstreaming of resilient cooling systems on a global level. The Policy Document can be found here. It is envisaged that the policy document will facilitate and promote the uptake of resilient cooling of buildings resulting in low carbon sustainable economies in different parts of the world.
