The ICE Database: Status Update & Upcoming Changes
Since its launch, the ICE Database has accumulated more than 100,000 users worldwide, becoming one of the most widely used sources of embodied carbon data for construction materials. Used by consultants, contractors, researchers, software developers, and public sector organisations across the globe, the database has played a significant role in supporting carbon assessments and sustainability initiatives throughout the built environment.
In this webinar, Jon Burrow (Head of Carbon Accounting) and Edwin Lowe (Delivery Manager) provided a status update on the ICE Database, introduced the new ICE Database Educational (v5.0), which replaces ICE Database v4.1 for educational and non-commercial use, and outlined the future direction of the database.
The session also included an introduction to the forthcoming IC+ database, providing an overview of how it will expand upon the foundations of the ICE Database and support the next generation of embodied carbon assessment in commercial applications.
