The ICE Database v4.0 launched in December 2024. Within the first 60 days of launch, over 750 unique organisations have registered to use it for commercial applications. This milestone reflects the growing demand for reliable embodied carbon data as industries work toward net-zero and sustainable development.
Since 2005, the ICE Database has supported professionals in construction, manufacturing, academia, public sector, and consultancies. It provides free data on the embodied carbon of over 200 materials, making it a key resource in hundreds of carbon footprint calculators, industry reports, and sustainability research projects.
Over 50,000 professionals globally have downloaded the ICE Database, integrating it into their sustainability efforts. This illustrates its impact on decision-making and carbon reduction.
The ICE Database:
- Supports embodied carbon reduction in projects worldwide
- If freely accessible to professionals, academics, and organisations
- Is widely used in reports, journals, carbon footprint calculators, and more
Circular Ecology would like to thank everyone using the ICE Database to create a lower-carbon future. 750 organisations registered in 60 days is an impressive milestone, and we look forward to sharing more with you as it’s developed.
We’d also like to extend our thanks to the first company to sign up to the new ICE Supporter System: sustainability consultancy, Hope Solutions. Their support is most appreciated, to help us maintain and enhance the ICE Database.
